During Israel Space Week, we held a virtual session with none other than Michael López-Alegría, a world-renowned astronaut and Chief Astronaut at Axiom Space. López-Alegría commanded the historic Ax-1 and Ax-3 missions, including leading the first all-private astronaut mission to the International Space Station (ISS). He also flew on the STS-73, STS-92, STS-113, and Soyuz TMA-9 missions, and served as commander of Expedition 14. He holds NASA records with 10 spacewalks, totaling 67 hours and 40 minutes outside the spacecraft. In recognition of his remarkable achievements, he was inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame in 2020. During the session, participants heard firsthand about life as an astronaut, unforgettable experiences from his space missions, and the exciting future of private space exploration.
