The exhibition “Within the Universe” offers a dual perspective: seen from space, Earth is a small, fragile planet enveloped in a thin layer of life; seen from Earth, space is a vast and mysterious expanse. Astronauts who have experienced the Overview Effect — the cognitive shift caused by seeing Earth from space — describe how it crystalized their understanding of how vulnerable our world is and how vital it is to protect it. A similar feeling arises here on Earth, when we look up and feel how small we are in the face of eternity. These two perspectives converge in the exhibition, offering a new outlook on human existence and our place in the universe.
The artworks displayed here oscillate between personal and collective memory, between myth and tradition, and between scientific documentation and lyrical observations. They echo ancient and contemporary traditions, observing remnants, seeds and images of Earth and space: symbols of transience as well as new beginnings, hope and renewal. They constitute a space where past, present and future are woven together, and where even the ephemeral touches the eternal. The exhibition invites a renewed reflection on our place in the world and the universe, and on our shared responsibility to preserve and nurture not only the land, but also the culture, identity and traditions that have been born from it and carry us forward.
