Prolonged microgravity exposure during space missions poses a risk to astronauts’ eyesight, potentially leading to neuro-ophthalmic  syndrome. Reported symptoms include vision degradation, optic nerve and retinal  changes, and changes in refractive error. Conducted by Bar-Ilan University in collaboration with the Israel Aerospace Medicine Institute, this study  investigates the impact of microgravity on visual function through digital  vision tests administered on a tablet. The new tests are combined with existing, validated technology, sponsored by Cortex Therapeutics (GlassesOff).
